Explore your path to mental health

An invitation from leadership to the UBC Okanagan community to learn, talk and explore their path to mental health.

Thrive 5+

The last few years have brought unprecedented challenges and complexities, and you may be feeling stressed or worried as we re-emerge from this period. There are many ways to foster and maintain good mental health, and research* consistently points to five ways that can help promote a healthy mind. We call these the Thrive 5, and they are simple, easy-to-implement ways to help support your mental health.

But there are many other ways to foster and maintain mental health—it is very diverse, and what works for some may not work for others. That's why we encourage you to explore the "Thrive 5+" and use Thrive as an opportunity to explore your path to mental health—whatever that may look like!

Mental Health

As our community comes back together after the challenges and complexities of the past few years, it is important to consider ways to support mental health and resilience. If you are experiencing fear, stress, and worry, please know that these feelings are natural when facing threats that are beyond your control.  If you need help in coping with these feelings, there are resources available.

Mental Health & Climate Change

The UBC Climate Hub is a new university-wide initiative that aims to connect and empower university and community stakeholders to take bold climate action for a just future. They have developed a toolkit to help generate some easy access for people looking to connect with climate mental health and wellbeing resources, information, and strategies.

This toolkit aims to provide a touch-point for those looking to explore, navigate and support themselves or others as we all navigate the many impacts of climate change. Explore the resource at the link below.
