Understanding Suicide, and the Potential Role of the Covid-19 Pandemic
Vancouver Campus | 1:00pm–2:30pm
Join us for an informative talk on suicide awareness hosted by the Suicide Awareness Community of Practice. Dr. David Klonsky will address what makes a person have thoughts of suicide and how that interfaces with the current pandemic. This will include a presentation on the most recent research as well as a Q and A period.
Dr. Klonsky is professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia. His research examines suicide, including the pursuit of parsimonious models of suicide and better understanding of suicide motivations and warning signs. Dr. Klonsky also pursues research interests in emotion, personality, and assessment, many of which overlap with his work on suicide.
