UBC Parent's Webinar on Student Wellness
Vancouver Campus | 12:00pm–1:30pm
University is an exciting time for students, as well as parents and caregivers. For many students, navigating the return to campus will stir up different emotions, from anticipation and excitement to anxiety and confusion. And for first and second-year students, the challenge may be even greater as campus itself may be entirely new. For everyone, COVID-19 has added a complex layer of uncertainty, however with the increased resumption of in-person teaching, learning, and research activity, we are thrilled to see the vibrancy that has returned to our campuses.
With health and wellbeing as a top priority, we want to ensure our students are supported. As parents and caregivers of UBC students, you may want to know more about how we are doing this. Development and Alumni Engagement is proud to present a webinar for UBC parents and caregivers focused on student wellness with a specific emphasis on mental health.
Join Ainsley Carry, UBC Vice-President, Students, on November 10, 2021 as he hosts keynote speaker Noorjean Hassam, UBC’s first ever Chief Student Health Officer, who joined UBC in the beginning of the summer. She will discuss student health and wellness, with a focus on mental health literacy, promotion and services.
Following the keynote, Ainsley and Noorjean will be joined by additional speakers for a moderated discussion. The panel will address the unique challenges students and families face during the pandemic and the university's resources that exist to support them. You will also have the opportunity to submit your own questions to the panel.
