Introduction to Tai Chi - moving mindfully

Vancouver Campus | 2:00pm–2:45pm

Join Lucas Trottier, head instructor at the Vancouver Traditional Martial Arts Dojo as he provides an introduction to Tai Chi.

The class will be 45 mins max and will be over Zoom.

Open to all UBCV and UBCO Students, Faculty and Staff.

Tai Chi Chuan is a Traditional Chinese Martial Art that focuses on the harmonization's of one’s mind, body, and spirit.
Deep awareness of body postures along with applications of the movements create a moving meditation which promotes both mental and physical health.
"Whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard.” - Lao Tzu

Want to be in with a chance of winning a UBC Bookstore Gift Card? We’ll draw a name at random at the end of the class.

This event is in partnership with UBCV Recreation, with funding from Move UBC

Best Practices for the event:

- Have Zoom downloaded

- Wear clothes that you feel comfortable stretching in

- Have enough room around you to take 2 big steps (6 feet) in either direction

- You can do it barefoot, or do what you are comfortable with

- Come to it with an open mind.

Please arrive on time. The virtual room will be locked at 2:05pm after a short disclaimer is read.

Register here by 2pm (Pacific Time) on Thursday, February 18 with your UBC affiliated email:
