Description:
Mindfulness means “Paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, and with unconditional love.” At its best, mindfulness can be a way of being that can be applied in everyday life, to help us to be more present to our joy, and take more compassionate care of our pain. In this virtual session, we will experience the simple act of drinking tea together as a mindfulness practice, to get in touch deeply with the present moment, and to build a healthy workplace community with our colleagues.
Preparation: Please arrive to the session with tea (loose leaves or teabag) that you may enjoy, as well as hot water to brew the tea (for example, using a kettle if you have one available), and a mug to enjoy the tea in. Please do not begin brewing or drinking your tea, as we will do that together during the session.
Your Facilitator:
Dr Dzung Vo, MD, FRCPC, Health, Adolescent Health & Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, UBC & BCCH and Director, BC Children’s Centre for Mindfulness. Dr. Dzung Vo is a pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine, the founding director of the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness, and a clinical associate professor and division head for the Division of adolescent health and medicine, DoP at BCCH and UBC.
