In Suicide Awareness and Intervention Training (SAIT), participants learn how to have a supportive conversation with someone who is having thoughts of suicide, and how to help them identify appropriate resources. The training involves 2 parts:
- Part 1 is an asynchronous Canvas course. Sign up for the staff/faculty Canvas course using your CWL: UBC Vancouver Faculty/Staff
- Part 2 is a synchronous, facilitated workshop. This workshop is an opportunity to review the skills learned in Part 1, and solidify your understanding through practice and discussions. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask their facilitator questions.
During Thrive month, we are hosting a facilitated workshop (Part 2 of the training) for UBC-V Staff/Faculty. Completion of Part 1, the asynchronous Canvas course, is required to participate in this workshop.
Space in the session is limited. UBC faculty and staff are invited to register.
