Animal Care Services Common Gardening Project
Vancouver Campus | 12:00am–12:00am
The goal of the Animal Care Services Common Gardening Project is to bring some joy, greenery, and outdoor activity to the staff working at the Centre for Comparative Medicine. The department of Animal Care Services supports the UBC Animal Care and Use Program by caring for laboratory animals for biomedical research.
We're encouraging department staff and laboratory personnel to meet and get to know each other, which makes everyone have a better understanding and appreciation for what others do. Our goal for the project is to pull people of all hierarchical levels together that might not normally work in the same team, but in an outside area that is safely physically distanced. Gardening promotes physical activity, teamwork, and demonstrates what a great work-life balance can look like. Our project will encourage all staff to plant something and share what they’ve learned about different types of plants.
