In 2016, UBC became one of the first post-secondary institutions in the world to adopt the Okanagan Charter, signaling a formal commitment to embedding health and wellbeing across all aspects of campus life. The launch of the Wellbeing Strategic Framework in 2019, re-affirmed this commitment, and provided community-driven targets for our campuses to collectively work towards achieving our vision to become a health and wellbeing promoting institution.
This page outlines what we're collectively and collaboratively doing as a campus community to achieve those targets, and how we're doing it. While we look back in our Annual Report to share and celebrate the ways in which multiple departments, units, and student groups are working together to support system-wide change, here, we look forward to the key milestones that will help bring us closer to realizing those targets and keeping us accountable to that ambitious vision we set out for UBC to achieve.
This is how together, we will create happier, healthier, more sustainable campus communities for everyone.
