This February, UBC marks 10 years of Move UBC, our campus-wide campaign that has helped embed movement, physical activity, and wellbeing into daily life at the university.
Since its launch in 2016, the Move UBC initiative has supported the health and wellbeing of students, faculty, and staff by encouraging movement and physical health literacy across work, learning, and living environments. Over the past decade, the initiative has grown into a key UBC Wellbeing campaign, showing how movement can enhance our physical health, mental health, wellbeing, academic performance, and community.
To celebrate this 10-year anniversary, Move UBC is hosting a series of special initiatives throughout February, inviting the UBC community to celebrate and reflect on the impact of movement.

A highlight of the anniversary celebrations is the Move UBC Keynote on February 24, 2026 featuring Olympian and mental health advocate Clara Hughes, with opening remarks from UBC President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon. Clara will share her experiences as a high-performance athlete and explore how movement can support resilience, mental health, and overall wellbeing both on campus and beyond.
