On Thursday, April 11, 2024, the UBC Wellbeing network gathered to welcome guests from Symbiosis International University (Pune, India) for a knowledge-sharing session in the Wellbeing Design Lab in the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) on the Vancouver campus.

This gathering was an opportunity for UBC staff leads from key health promotion, equity,  wellbeing, and sustainability units to hear insights from leaders, including Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor, and Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, about the state of play of India’s leading health-promoting institution as well as a perspective on the direction of India’s broader education system.

UBC and Symbiosis International University have long been collaborating and sharing best practices, facilitated by their membership in the International Health Promoting Campuses Network. This partnership underscores their shared commitment to advancing health and wellbeing within their communities and beyond.
